Hugh Moncrieff has been appointed Executive Vice-President, Advisory Network & Industry Affairs for Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life. In a message distributed April 24 announcing Moncrieff’s appointment, Stefan Kristjanson, President and Chief Operating Officer, Canada, Great-West Life, London Life, Canada Life said, “Advisors are critical to our continued growth and ability to deliver for our customers. Moncrieff has extensive experience in the distribution sector. His previous leadership roles include leading the Great-West Life Gold Key organization and the Advice Channel Strategy group.

In addition to leading Advisory Network, Moncrieff will also head the company’s activities related to public policy and industry affairs.

Increased velocity of regulatory and policy change

“With the increased velocity of regulatory and government policy change, there’s an increasing need to strengthen and focus our capabilities in these areas. Hugh’s experience in influencing and shaping policy will serve Advisory Network, customers and our company well,” said Kristjanson.

Moncrieff will report directly to Jeff Macoun, who has been appointed Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Canada. In this role, Macoun takes on the executive leadership for distribution.

Macoun will continue reporting to Kristjanson and he will also continue to be the executive leader of the Group Customer business unit.
