GoodLife Fitness is joining Manulife Financial’s Vitality program in Canada as its exclusive fitness club rewards provider.

Manulife announced on August 31 that it will offer its Vitality program members access to subsidized memberships at the 240 GoodLife Fitness clubs across Canada and the 50 Énergie Cardio locations in Quebec. The insurer says that its Vitality program is meant to encourage physical activity and healthy living choices, so partnering with Canada's largest fitness club chain aligns well with its goals.

"GoodLife Fitness is a welcome addition to the Manulife Vitality program in Canada as they share our goal of helping Canadians live long, healthy and fulfilled lives," says Marianne Harrison, president and CEO of Manulife Canada. "Vitality has found that people who purchase an integrated life insurance product and participate in the program, are motivated to set goals and take steps to healthy living.  Manulife Vitality members now have another incentive to join the program."

David Patchell-Evans, the founder and CEO of Goodlife, notes that this is the first collaboration of its kind in Canada. Manulife says it continues to investigate ways it might involve the Vitality program with other products.
