Demand for life insurance in the United States grew slightly in June, up 0.7 per cent year-over-year, according to a new report by MIB Life Index.

The MIB Life Index measures application activity for individually underwritten life insurance in the U.S.

In June, demand for life insurance showed gains in two of three age groups: ages 0-44 was up 1.0 per cent and ages 60+ was up 1.6 per cent year-over-year. For ages 45-59, demand declined by -0.4 per cent.

Year-to-date, life insurance demand for the 0-44 age group was off -0.2 per cent and -1.1 per cent for ages 45-59. Demand in the 60+ age group was up 0.4 per cent YTD.
