CRA launches new app for benefits

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has created a new mobile app that allows taxpayers to view their benefit and credit information whenever and wherever they wish.
The CRA says it is committed to better serving Canadians by improving and expanding its online services. As part of this commitment, the CRA has just released MyBenefits, a web‑based mobile app that allows people to view all of their personalized benefit and credit information.
Fast, easy, and secure
The MyBenefits app will show you when your benefits or credits will be paid, the amount of your payments, and the status of your Canada child benefit application. In October the app will also allow you to update some of the personal information that may affect your benefit and credit eligibility, such as marital status and the children under your care.
"The app is a fast, easy, and secure way to check the amount and date of your upcoming benefit payments. No need to wait on the phone!," reads the message posted to the CRA web site yesterday.
Those who wish to take advantage of the new program should register on the app or through the CRA's My Account web site. Once you have your CRA security code you can use it for other CRA online services. For more information and to download the app, visit cra.gc.ca/mobileapps.
