The Canadian Life Insurance EDI Standards (CLIEDIS) organization has added two new members to its executive committee.
Leaders of Canada’s life and health insurance business sit on the CLIEDIS's executive committee, where they are responsible for the governance of the organization and ensure that it is encouraging the industry to adopt appropriate electronic data standards.
On November 16, CLIEDIS announced the following changes to the committee:
- Mike Lewis, Vice-President of Strategic Initiatives for Individual Insurance and Investment Products at Canada Life, will replace Darlys Corbitt as the insurer's representative.
- Heather Saxon, Director of Information Services for Retail Markets at Manulife Financial, will replace Alan Bett as the insurer's representative.
Corbitt is leaving Canada Life in order to become the new executive director of CLIEDIS, and Bett is stepping down to begin his new position as AVP, Business Transformation at John Hancock Insurance.
Outgoing executive director of CLIEDIS Julie Parrott thanked Bett for his work and announced that Dennis Craig, Vice-President of MGA and National Account Relationships at RBC Insurance, has agreed to be co-chair for the remainder of Bett's term. Craig has served on the CLIEDIS executive committee since 2006 and has served in this role previously.
