FP Canada – formerly known as Financial Planning Standards Council or FPSC – has announced its board of directors for 2019/2020. The new board will be chaired by Brett Millard, CFP, based in Kelowna, BC.

In this role, Millard will succeed Dan Busi, CFP. Millard has been on the FP Canada board since 2014, serving most recently as vice chair.

Busi, based in Calgary, will continue to serve on the Board for the final year of his term.

“This is an exciting time for the profession. I’m honoured to be given the opportunity to pick up where Dan left off as chair, and I look forward to working with Cary List, president and CEO of FP Canada, in continuing to lead the advancement of professional financial planning in Canada,” said Millard.

Martin Dupras, F. Pl., based in Montreal, has been appointed vice chair of the Board. Dupras is a past chair of the board of the Institut québécois de planification financière (IQPF).

Two new Directors have also joined the board. They are Carolyn Fallis, CFP of Toronto and Yves Giroux, F. Pl. of Toronto.

Monumental transition

“In the past few years, FP Canada’s board of directors has guided the organization through its monumental transition from FPSC to FP Canada. I am grateful to Dan for his incredible leadership these past two years, and I look forward to working with Brett in his capacity as Chair, during this period of significant change,” said Cary List.

Other directors continuing their terms on the Board include: François Durocher, CFP; Ronald P. Harvey, CFP; David Wild; Pat Macdonald; and Peter Shena.
