The Life Insurance Council of Saskatchewan’s market practices committee has published its decision to fine Kimberly (Kim) Coirdeta Gesmundo $520 for failing to respond to the council’s auditor.
Although she was able to provide proof of having met her continuing education (CE) requirements once the auditor was able to make contact with Gesmundo, and despite having been on medical leave, the council fined the former agent for failing to respond to the council’s correspondence.
“The committee pointed out that the evidence provided by the licensee respecting her move and medical concerns were outside of the time frame of the failure to respond to the CE audit,” the decision states. “The committee unanimously agrees that the fine recommended in the investigation report should stand.”
Notably, the council adds that it will not pursue the fine and investigation costs unless Gesmundo chooses to reinstate her license again in the future. “In the event that the licensee chooses to obtain her license in the future, she will be required to pay the total fine and costs of investigation in the amounts of $520 and her continuing education requirements will undergo further review.”
