iA Financial Group announced that Jacques Martin is the new Chair of the company’s Board of Directors. The appointment was announced, and became effective, on Sept. 6. In this role, Martin succeeds Jocelyne Bourgon.

Martin is a corporate director and has been a member of the Board of Directors of iA Financial Group since 2011. He has worked as an executive in the investment industry including Goldman Sachs in London and New York where he was Managing Director and Head of International Equities at the time of his departure, as well as for the Caisse de dépôt et placement de Québec as Senior Vice-President, International Equities, based in New York.

In a statement, the members of the Board of Directors and the executive team thanked Jocelyne Bourgon for her leadership. “As Vice-Chair and subsequently Chair, Mrs. Bourgon led the Board's activities at a pivotal time that included the retirement of Mr. Yvon Charest after 18 years in the position of Chief Executive Officer and the harmonious transition of his successor, Denis Ricard,” stated the company.

Bourgon became Chair of the company in 2017.
