Great-West Life today announced the launch of its new health and wellness platform, Health Connected.

The platform offers digital health advice and coaching based on a personalized health risk assessment – a scorecard outlining their risks across 15 different health and wellness categories. A plan member’s high health risks are then moved into the platform’s digital coaching area where plan members are given a 28-day action plan.

The platform’s other features include the ability to issue team and solo nutrition, fitness, stress or happiness challenges. Participants can earn points and badges for their engagement. Participants can set reminders for themselves and log progress. The app also syncs with top fitness apps and devices to track daily activities.

All members of Great-West Life’s group health and benefits plans are being given access to the platform, at no extra cost to plan sponsors. “We’re making this investment in our customers’ organizational wellness because we believe it will help improve employee morale and engagement and reduce disability claims,” says Great-West Life’s vice president of group customer product and experience, Ryan Weiss.

Between now and Dec. 31, plan members who engage with the platform will be given the chance to win cash prizes.
