In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, all members of the Insurance Journal team are working hard to keep the industry informed.

Now scattered across the country, working from their homes but connected online, members of the Insurance Journal Publishing Group team are continuing to report the news, conduct interviews, write, edit, lay out and upload their work via the Insurance Portal and the Portail de l’assurance.

More than ever, we believe it is essential to pursue our mission of informing our readers about the consequences of the greatest social and economic upheaval to occur worldwide since the Second World War.

Your response was immediate: traffic to our Portals has spiked. During the week of March 15 to 21, a total of 33,892 sessions were opened by 28,151 users who consulted 45,831 pages.

Our news company is independent of all regulatory organizations in Canada. Over the past two years, we have undertaken a major transformation by enhancing our digital offering, and you have responded.

Let’s continue together.

Due to the crisis, we have encountered one obstacle; the company which prints the Insurance Journal and Journal de l’assurance magazines has, in accordance with governmental rules, suspended its operations until mid-April at least.

Our business continuity plan immediately kicked into action: the April editions of both magazines will be produced digitally and available on the Insurance Portal and the Portail de l’assurance as of mid-April.

  • The digital versions of our April editions will be downloadable from our Portals for free;

  • A download link will be sent to print subscribers;

  • All of our industry contacts will also receive this download link and will be invited to distribute our digital versions for free in their networks;

  • We will launch a massive social media campaign to announce the digital publication of our magazines;

  • When the printing company is operational again, our current magazine editions will be printed and mailed to subscribers.

With all of these measures, more than 100,000 readers will be informed about the impacts of this crisis, as well as other major issues that continue to affect them.

You are valued participants in an industry recognized as an essential service in this time of crisis: we will be there to support you.
