Payments by pre-authorized debit resumed for insured members of Promutuel Assurance on Feb. 1, the insurer announced on Jan. 28.

As the computer systems are gradually being restored following a cyberattack in December, payments will be able to be withdrawn again, according to the schedule agreed upon with the insured member.

The insurer advises its members to expect payments to be withdrawn from their bank account on the usual date, or to refer to the schedule attached to their insurance policy to find out the dates of upcoming payments.

Pre-authorized withdrawals that were not made between Dec. 17 and Dec. 31, 2020 will resume on March 4, 2021. Withdrawals scheduled for January 2021 will resume on April 1, 2021.

The next steps

All members affected will receive a letter at least 20 days in advance of a pre-authorized withdrawal. Promutuel Insurance says that its client space and several of its computer systems will be back in service by mid-February. It adds that it is continuing to make the necessary efforts to fully restore its activities.
