FP Canada announced Sept. 28 the recipients of the QAFP Exam Award of Merit for the May 2021 sitting of the certification exam.

The award honours the three candidates who scored highest of all Qualified Associate Financial Planner exam writers from across Canada. They are in first place, Michael Liu of New Westminster, BC (RBC Royal Bank); in second, Scott Braun of Winnipeg, MB (BMO Financial Group); and in third, Nathan Phillips of Orleans, ON (CIBC Imperial Service). 

"I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Michael, Scott and Nathan for their stellar performance on the QAFP exam. We are proud to have them as part of this profession and we wish all three QAFP Exam Award of Merit recipients the very best in their future endeavours," stated Tashia Batstone, President & CEO of FP Canada. 

The QAFP exam is a four-hour standardized national exam. FP Canada offers the exam in both English and French, three times a year. The next two QAFP exams will be held in October 2021 and February 2022. Exams will be offered both in person and online with remote proctoring.
