The Co-operators has signed a deal to provide insurance to members of the First Credit Union in British Columbia, and it has also begun a new marketing campaign in Quebec.

The Co-operators announced earlier this week that it will now be the exclusive provider for First Credit Union's insurance subsidiaries, First Insurance and Westview Agencies; their books of business include personal and commercial policies. Clients’ existing insurance will remain in effect with no changes to their premiums or coverage for the current term of their policies. As policies expire, clients will be offered comparable policies from The Co-operators.

“At the forefront of delivering insurance services”

"This joint venture ensures that our insurance operations will be at the forefront of delivering insurance services in Canada through the integration of The Co-operators seamless omni-channel systems," says Dave Craigen, the CEO of First Credit Union. "This will benefit our members, clients, our communities and our employees."

The insurer has also launched a new marketing campaign in Quebec. The theme is "Let us handle the stress", and includes three television ads. The spots emphasise the peace of mind that insurance provides.

"We make things easy for our clients"

"We make things easy for our clients, and handle the stress so that they have less to worry about," says Karine Potvin, manager of marketing programs at The Co-operators. "The tranquil style of the ads reflects that, and contrasts sharply with the typical noisy, fast-paced ads we've grown accustomed to seeing on television."
