The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) and the Alberta RCMP announced on Aug. 29 that Shaun Wayne Howell of Drayton Valley, Alberta has been charged with three counts of fraud and three counts of theft over $5,000, following an investigation by the Joint Serious Offences Team (JSOT).
It is alleged that he fraudulently raised approximately $200,000 from six different investors. His first appearance in court is scheduled for Oct. 26, in Red Deer, Alberta.
Enforcement partnership
JSOT is an enforcement partnership between the ASC, the RCMP Federal Policing's Financial Integrity Program and Alberta Crown Prosecution Service.
