IDC Worldsource Insurance Network announced March 28 that Phil Marsillo has been appointed the company’s president, effective April 2. Marsillo, a 35-year industry veteran, retired last summer from his position of Senior Vice-President, Distribution with Canada Life.

In his new role with IDC WIN, Marsillo “will be responsible for the overall sales and operations of the company, working closely with existing management teams across the country, ensuring that IDC WIN continues to grow profitably while offering exceptional products and service to independent insurance advisors,” stated a March 28 email bulletin signed by Paul Brown, Chairman & CEO, IDC WIN.

Ron Madzia to retire

In the bulletin, Brown also announced that Ron Madzia, Vice Chairman of IDC WIN and previously President of IDC Financial and IDC WIN since 2001, will be retiring effective June 30. Madzia will continue to sit on the company’s board and provide consulting services.

“Ron's enduring vision and passion for the business was the driving force in the development of IDC as a major regional MGA in Ontario and, subsequently as he led the merger of IDC with Worldsource to create one of the country's leading national distributors,” wrote Brown.

Two more executive appointments

The bulletin also announced two other appointments. Greg Osmak has been named Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing for IDC WIN and Stephen Lui has been appointed Senior Vice President, Ontario & Asian Markets.
