The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) announced today that it will be hosting a roundtable to gather more stakeholder input on the option of banning embedded commissions in mutual funds. The discussion relates to the Canadian Securities Administrators consultation paper 81-408, Consultation on the Option of Discontinuing Embedded Commissions.

The event is scheduled to be held Sept. 18, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the OSC’s offices located at 20 Queen Street West (22nd floor) in Toronto.

The event will include panel discussions on emerging themes from the consultation and will “reflect a diversity of views, so as to facilitate a balanced debate,” says the OSC.

More details on the roundtable will be published by the OSC in mid August.
