Qualified Financial Services (QFS), a managing general agency, has announced that Nick Simone is retiring from his role as president effective March 31.

Simone, who has held the position of president since joining the MGA in 2011, will continue to work with the firm in a consulting capacity to assist during the transition period, said QFS in an announcement Feb. 15.

Personal decision

“Mr. Simone’s personal decision has been a long time in the making, and during the year or more that it has been under discussion, QFS has added senior management strength by bringing on Larry Goldberg, CPA, CA as Chief Operating Officer in May 2016, and has continued to prepare other members of the executive team for their expanded roles, including Joe Trozzo, Vice-President of Sales and Perry Villanueva, Vice-President, Recruiting and Advisor Development,” said Kevin Cott, Chief Executive Officer of QFS.

“In addition, I am working with my executive team to prepare my three children to assume leadership of QFS over the coming years, to ensure QFS’ continued growth and success into the next generation,” added Cott.
