The Independent Financial Brokers of Canada (IFB) have introduced an online education portal for independent financial advisors called IFB Academy.

Developed in partnership with the Smarten Up Institute, “the system gives financial professionals the opportunity to earn Continuing Education (CE) credits by accessing online courses, enhance their knowledge through expert commentary on topics that are critically important to advisors today, and to maintain and house all their compliance documents in one secure online briefcase,” stated the IFB in a Nov. 6 announcement.

Obtain CE credits on demand

IFB’s Executive Director, Nancy Allan says, “this offering expands what the IFB does for independent financial advisors at our conferences and Summits. It allows financial advisors to obtain continuing education credits, on demand, which meet IIROC’s (Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada) CE standards, as well as CE that is valid for maintaining life insurance licenses and other certifications as well.”

Course material available in French and English

Using the system, advisors can access online, accredited course material in French and English directly through the IFB’s web portal. A certificate is provided immediately upon successful completion of each course. Many courses will be offered free of charge to IFB members.
