On July 7th, Chicago-based insurance brokerage Hub International announced that it had acquired Gibson's Insurance Agency in Manitoba, a broker that serves government automotive insurance needs and which also has a large share of the local agricultural market.

Hub intends to fold Gibson's into its Hub International Horizon operations. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Hub says that both of Gibson's locations - one in Treherne and another Notre Dame de Lourdes - will remain open. With the purchase of Gibson's, Hub will now have 22 locations in Manitoba.

“Because Gibson’s agricultural clients are similar to Hub’s Manitoba client profile, they are in a great position to take advantage of Hub’s unique innovative insurance products developed for crop production, employee benefits, and life and estate planning,” comments Keith Jordan, President and CEO of Hub International Horizon.
