Horizons ETFs Management has appointed Taeyong Lee and Steven Hawkins to serve as Co-Chief Executive Officers. They have also been appointed as Co-CEOs of AlphaPro Management, which serves as the manager and trustee for some the Horizons exchange traded funds (ETFs). Lee will continue as Executive Chairman and Global Head of ETFs for Mirae Asset Global Investments while Hawkins will remain Chief Investment Officer.

"The board of Horizons ETFs felt that the business would greatly benefit from a Co-CEO leadership structure led by Steve Hawkins and myself," says Lee. "I will be staying on as Co-CEO to leverage my role as Global Head of ETFs, which allows me to focus on strategically aligning the Canadian ETF business with Mirae's expanding global business initiatives. Steve will be heavily focused on the day-to-day operations of the Canadian ETF business. I believe this is going to be a tremendous partnership that will not only benefit Horizons ETFs, but our global ETF business."

At the same time, the Horizons ETFs board of directors announced that Thomas Park has been appointed Chief Corporate Development Officer. Park is Executive Managing Director of Mirae Asset, and has been a member of the Horizons ETFs board of directors since 2011. Horizons says that the rest of its senior management team will remain unchanged.
