Green Shield Canada announced February 13 that it has acquired BCH Consultants, the second largest independent employee assistance program (EAP) provider in Quebec. Also a specialist in providing intervention plans and psychological support programs for organizations and employees, the firm will support French-speaking members across the country and provide local trauma support “and other unique clinical services” required by Quebec organizations.

“This acquisition reaffirms Green Shield’s commitment to the Quebec market,” says the firm’s Quebec region leader and vice president of enterprise growth, Steve Laberge. “We are building a new standard of care focused on the unique needs of individual patients. Acquiring BCH Consultants provides Green Shield with the valuable knowledge and insights of local clinicians to further enhance our ability to offer patient-centric care to the residents of Quebec.”

The firm with 700 clinicians is the eighth acquisition in two years for Green Shield Holdings Inc. BCH Consultants will continue to operate under its own brand, led by the firm’s current team and Joannie Gauthier, the firm’s president and executive director. BCH Consultants’ head office will also remain located in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
