The Insurance and Investment Journal has learned that on Oct. 23 Grant Swanson retired from his role as executive director of the Financial Services Commission of Ontario’s (FSCO) Licensing & Market Conduct Division. Swanson had held this position since 2005. Anatol Monid, previously director of the Market Regulation Branch, has taken on the role of Acting Executive Director.

In other recent developments at FSCO, it was announced that Brian Mills has been appointed the Interim CEO and superintendent of FSCO. Effective Oct. 18,, Mills took over for Philip Howell who retired on Oct. 17.

Prior to this appointment, Mills was FSCO’s deputy, superintendent, pensions. Lester Wong, previously FSCO’s chief actuary, pensions, has been appointed interim deputy superintendent of pensions.
