Last month, the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) announced that it will be extending the deadline for insurance agents to renew their licences. The regulator has now released further details on this measure.

In an announcement on April 27, FSRA said that it has extended the deadline for insurance agents, corporate agencies or partnerships to renew their licence by 60 days after their licence expires. The extension, retroactive to March 15, applies to agents, corporate agencies or partnerships whose licence expired since March 15 or will expire at any time up to June 30, 2020.

FSRA is also giving life insurance agents a 60-day extension to complete their continuing education requirements.
