Equisoft, a provider of digital solutions for the insurance and wealth management industries, announced June 5 that, in partnership with Canada Gives, it has developed a new philanthropy centre, including a gift-giving planning tool for wealthy clients.

The philanthropy centre will reside as a configurable module on its WealthElements™ financial planning platform, says Equisoft.

Creating a legacy

"This unique partnership will help advisors provide a new planning approach for major donors, enabling them to maximize the benefit of their large charitable gifts," says Denise Castonguay, Executive Director and CEO of Canada Gives. "As philanthropy becomes increasingly important to aging clients, this new WealthElements™ module will help advisors begin the critical discussion around philanthropy and more easily create a legacy of charitable giving for their wealthy clients."

Canada Gives works with families and their advisors using donor-advised funds to create family foundations. These donors have now contributed over $60 Million to their Canada Gives' foundations and disbursed $25 Million to charities.

Facilitates client-advisor discussions

"In our efforts to continually evolve the WealthElements platform to better serve the needs of financial professionals, we felt the addition of functionality designed to facilitate the client-advisor discussions around charitable giving was a natural fit," says Jonathan Georges, Vice President, Wealth Management Solutions at Equisoft.
