Fidelity Investments' fixed income portfolio manager Brian Miron has decided to retire.

On Jan. 28, Fidelity announced that Miron will be retiring on June 30, 2015, and will begin handing over his portfolio management responsibilities on April 1, 2015. He is currently co-portfolio manager with Catriona Martin on a number of Fidelity Canada investment mandates.

On April 1, Sri Tella will be promoted to co-portfolio manager to work alongside Martin. In a press release announcing the change, Fidelity pointed out that Tella has been working with Mr. Miron and Martin as a dedicated Canadian fixed income trader since 2008. Prior to joining Fidelity, Tella worked as a research analyst at Merrill Lynch from 2006 to 2007, and before that as a trader at both HSBC Securities and Goldman Sachs.

"Brian Miron has been a valued member of the Fidelity fixed income team for 15 years and we wish him well in his retirement," says Craig Strachan, head of product at Fidelity Canada. "While we are always sorry to see people leave, we are proud of the depth and breadth of the talent at Fidelity. Sri Tella is a good example of the deep talent pool at Fidelity and we are delighted to promote Sri to portfolio manager on Fidelity's fixed income team."
