Canada Protection Plan (CPP) has opened an office in Montreal. This is its first business location in the province of Quebec – the second largest market in Canada.

The company distributes medical and simplified issue life insurance products underwritten by Foresters Financial. The Montreal office was opened on Nov. 22 and is the first CPP office outside of Ontario.

The Montreal office will serve as a base for three regional vice presidents: Gilles Côté for Eastern Quebec; Michel Gagné for Western Quebec; and Alain Plante for Central Quebec.

Strengthening its presence

CPP already operated in the province through Quebec MGAs. With the new office, the company says it believes it will strengthen its presence in the Quebec market and consolidate its network.

"We are very pleased to open the first Canada Protection Plan office in Quebec," said Michael Aziz, co-president of Canada Protection Plan. “This province represents a large and growing part of our business, and our Montreal office will allow us to strengthen our ties with our clients and advisors, as well as access Quebec's talent pool more easily."

Future developments

CPP says with the opening of the office comes new career opportunities. "We intend to continue expanding our presence in Quebec over the next 12 months by hiring highly qualified employees," added Aziz.
